DE FLEUR was born on 9th September 1951 in
Shepherds Bush (London). His real name was Zenon HIEROWSKI.
He was educated at the Cardinal Vaughan Grammar School (Kensington) and
Imperial College (London).
Zen's musical career started when he made his first guitar in the
school workshop in 1966. In 1967, he formed his first band called Long Pig which lasted
CHROME was formed in 1973, and out of the remnants, Zen
formed The COUNT BISHOPS in July 1975.

He has previously and occasionally worked as a freelance accountant and a
Zen’s musical influences were The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, John Mayall, Savoy Brown and other
blues artists. He played a Fender Telecaster and an Epiphone Riviera,
through two blonde Vox AC 30's.
Zen died on 18th March 1979 from injuries sustained in a car crash
after a Bishops’
gig on 10th March 1979.
