From 1984, Dave
TICE was the singer of The Headhunters, with amongst other musicians, Mark
EVANS and Mick COCKS.
They recorded an album, "Outlaw Boogie - Vol. 1" which
was released in 1992 through Oz Bike Magazine.
till 1997, The HEADHUNTERS toured extensively in Australia,
especially around Sydney. During this time, Dave also toured with
Australian guitar virtuoso Phil EMMANUEL.
In 1986 -
1987, Dave was also with Mal Eastick Band.
In 1998, Dave
was asked to sing on an album by slide guitarist John Russell. The result is the
"Sippin' & A Slidin'" CD by JR & The Bar King's, issued by Full Moon Records.
In 2000, Simon
CAREY, of FULL MOON Records, got Dave in a studio to record his
first solo album, the fantastic "Lay Down With Dogs".
Simon writes in the liner notes: "If you're looking for
technical finesse, you won't find too much here. These guys plug in and
play the way rock music was meant to be".
This CD is a MUST: a bunch of great songs recorded by Dave
and his friends.
Dave have team up with Mark Evans who was the first
bassist of AC/DC (he played bass on "High Voltage",
"Dirty Deeds ..." and "Let There Be Rock").
Dave and Mark still play together and have released two live
CD albums in 2001: "Live At The Bridge" and "Live
At Rum And Raisin".
also have his own band, the Dave TICE BAND, with
again Mark EVANS on bass.
